Sweden Holidays | Wilderness Road Accomodation
Welcome to our wonderful holiday home in the beautiful province of Jämtland, Sweden!
We are a half Argentinian, half Dutch couple, who crossed paths in New Zealand while travelling. After exploring many beautiful places together, we found ourselves in Sweden where we have been working with sled dogs for some years. Now, we found our own slice of paradise and purchased a cozy little farmhouse. We are located in the heart of the province of Jämtland, along a quiet side road of the popular Vildmarksvägen.
Our farm lies right next to the holiday house, and we have sheep, pigs, chickens, turkeys and a very sweet but self-willed husky :). We try to live as self-sustainable as possible. In the summer we grow our own vegetables, and we have fresh eggs every day. We make our own sausages, burgers, and cold cuts from the meat we have.
This is a place of peace and quiet. The forests and calm country roads are ideal for hiking and cycling. The countless beautiful lakes are perfect for kayaking or a day of fishing. In the late summer / autumn there are many wild berries and mushrooms to pick. In the winter you can enjoy cross-country skiing or ice fishing, and there are numerous opportunities for snowmobile – and dogsled tours in the area. The breathtaking beauty of the northern forests is the perfect place to experience the magical Northern lights, and if you are lucky, you can catch a glimpse of the local wildlife.
